All Baltimore babies are born healthy and grow and thrive in healthy families — that’s the vision of B’more for Healthy Babies’ two community initiatives, located in Upton/Druid Heights and Patterson Park North/East. Since 2011, BHB’s partner organizations with a strong and long-standing community presence in each neighborhood have led the initiatives, using a mobilization model that helps identify community priorities and builds upon strengths and assets to create solutions for these priorities. 

 

Each initiative relies on Community Health Workers to partner with families and provide them with support and education to help them thrive. Through partnerships with many other organizations in their communities, BHB is able to facilitate access to health care, education and social supports. Each initiative has a strong advocacy component and works to promote policy changes that will create more equitable structures without regard to race, gender or socio-economic status.
