B'more Fit Trauma-Informed Care Model Featured in National Publication

CityLights, CityMatCH's nationally distributed quarterly newsletter, featured a story on B'more Fit's pilot trauma-informed care model.

The new model trains staff and partners to become more aware of the prevalence of abuse in the lives of B’more Fit participants, leading to better engagement in program services and preventing inadvertent re-traumatization.

In the words of B'more Fit program director, Stacey Tuck, "Many of our participants grapple daily with food insecurity, unsafe neighborhoods, and other stressors. We’re using all this information to educate our staff and partners about what’s really going on with all the women we serve."

B'more for Healthy Babies' ultimate goal is to incorporate trauma-based care in all of our programs.
