BHB Home Visiting Featured in Publication

B'more for Healthy Babies Home Visiting programs is featured in the Fall 2015 issue of Uncensored, a publication of the Institute for Children, Poverty & Homelessness (ICPH).

The article, "Changing Lives with a Knock on the Door", highlights the effectiveness of home visiting and success stories from different cities. Laura Latta, Director of Early Childhood Initiatives at Family League of Baltimore, discusses what home visiting in Baltimore looked like before and after the creation of B'more for Healthy Babies. In her words, “We brought the funding streams and agencies together and now we have a citywide system that includes home visiting.” This structure contributed to 24 percent decrease in infant mortality and a 40 percent decrease in the racial disparities for infant mortality between 2009 and 2012 (read more about our success in our 5 year brochure).
