Healthy Teen Network Presents "Spirit of Service Award" to BHB
The Healthy Teen Network recently presented B'more for Healthy Babies the Spirit of Service Award "in recognition of an exceptionally strong commitment to community and youth".
The award was given at Healthy Teen Network’s Annual National Conference, Youth 360°: How & Where Youth Live, Learn, & Play Matters. Dr. Leana S. Wen (pictured left), Baltimore City's Health Commissioner, and Maria Tildon (pictured center), Senior VP of Public Policy & Community Affairs at CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, accepted the Spirit of Service Award on behalf of B’more for Healthy Babies.
Since our beginning in 2009, we have been committed to working toward a future where all Baltimore babies are born at a healthy weight, full term, and ready to thrive in healthy families. Through the support and hard work of our public-private partners to address factors at policy, community, relationship, and individual levels, we have been able to reach many important milestones for Baltimore City, including a recent 32% reduction in teen births.
